This instructional DVD uses advanced concepts of applied anatomy and biomechanics to form their concepts of best running efficiency. Presented over five hours, the information is thorough to the point of wanting to get CEUs for watching. Frans Bosch and Ronald Klomp (thus BK Method) are from the Netherlands and wrote Running: Biomechanics and Exercise Physiology in Practice in 2001 (English translation in 2005). This film is an excellent addition to the book which is more like an advanced college text than directed at a layperson in the field.

Disc 1 focuses on the following: Running techniques, injury prevention, training advices, speed training, and efficiency improvement.

Disc 2 continues with more techniques, anatomy, biomechanics, and efficiency training.

If you are looking for precise and detailed analysis of how to apply forces to gain efficiencies, then you have found one of the few productions that can break it down into all levels (cellular, electrical, musculature, rise delay, prestretch, elasticity, extensions, motor patterns, reflexes) and how these items relate and adapt to training loads. Plan on paying more than usual for this DVD, and to see a sampling of video feeds see their website at RunningDVD.com where you will find a host of information to explore, including a handful of samples from the DVD.
