Released in Europe in 1998 and in the United States in 1999 this German motion picture, with English subtitles, lasts 81 minutes and is rated R (15 for PAL versions). This film explores the events that fate alone controls and displays the constant "what ifs" that occur every moment and that can easily change the happenings of the next. The film follows the events between a woman, Lola (Franka Potente), and her boyfriend, Manni (Moritz Bleibtreu), who she desperately tries to save from death by helping him obtain a huge amount of money he carelessly lost. It takes you on three different journeys with Lola from the time she receives a frantic phone call until the ultimate outcome from the twists of each scenario. This film has received more movie reviews than any other film listed in this filmography. Search more than 150 reviews, including several languages represented. Themes weave through this story, so as you watch pay particular attention to the number twenty, spirals, red, breaking glass, and clocks. The musical score by Reinhold Heil, Johnny Klimek, and Tom Tykwer (also director and writer of this movie) is extremely powerful.
