The men’s competition was won by Florida State with 67 points, 16 more than and second place LSU. Auburn won the women’s team title by almost 20 points over Southern California. For the Seminoles, it was the first ever national title and the first of two consecutive championships. For Auburn, it was the first national championship in the program’s history.
