Following the Volume 1 DVD to help athletes have a strong core and properly prepare for workouts, this production shares even more exercises. Christian Smith, 2008 Olympian in the 800 meters, demonstrates many of the exercises. In this presentation more equipment is used, such as medicine ball, swissballs, and hurdles. The tasks are more challenging than in Volume 1, so it would be best to have a solid base of fitness before taking on these more advanced routines. The general stregth is broken down into core, postural, and total body. The three plyometic routines presented are all done in sand making the activity more concentric than eccentric. Coach Jay Johnson does the production while Coach Mike Smith, from Kansas State University, put together these routines. This DVD can be ordered from Amazon.com and it comes with PDF files that you can print out and take with you during your workout sessions. The official site, RunningDVDs.com provides more information including three sample routines available for download (Appolo, Atlas, Zeus)- Featuring 13 general strength core exercises with a medicine ball. Previews are also available to view to get a more extensive understanding of the content present on the excellent DVD.
