Returning to Arkansas for the second year in a row, it was Pat Henry’s team from LSU winning the men’s team title by just one point over TCU. Coach Jeannette Bolden brought in the UCLA women for the team victory while Southern Carolina earned the second spot this year. One of the meet highlights was the 800 meters where Patrick Nduwimana from Arizona set a new meet record of 1:45.33. Other individuals who won titles included Kim Collins in both the 60 and 200 meters, Rickey Harris, Brian Berryhill, David Kimani, and Aubrey Herring in the 60 meter hurdles. For the women the winners included Monique Tubbs, Cydonie Mothersill, Demetiria Washington, Svetlana Badrankova, Tracy Robertson, Shannon Smith, Jodie Hughes, and Donica Merriman.
