Once again teams such as Stanford and LSU assembled in the RCA Dome in Indiana hoping to bring home a National title however Texas won the Women’s title on the strength of four individual titles, while Arkansas won its 14th Men’s title in 15 years under the direction of Coach John McDonnell. This was also the last year that the sprints competed at 55 meters for both men and women in both the open as well as short hurdle event. Runners who stood on top of the victory stand this year included Ja'Warren Hooker, Larry Wade, Shawn Crawford, Davian Clarke, David Krummenacker, Kevin Sullivan, Adam Goucer (Record setting time of 7:46.03 in the 3,000), Brad Hauser, Kwajalein Butler, LaKeisha Backus, Suziann Reid, Hazel Clark, Carmen Douma, Katie McGregor, and Amy Skieresz.
