Back at Bronco Stadium in Boise Idaho comes the powerhouses of collegiate athletics: Arkansas, Stanford, Texas, and UCLA. The Men’s Championship was won by Arkansas for the their eighth consecutive national title for the Razorbacks with Stanford being just seven points back in second place. Men who win individual running titles include Leonard Myles-Mills who runs 9.98 in the 100, John Capel (19.87 in the 200), Clement Chukwu, Derrick Peterson, Clyde Colenso, Matt Kerr, Bernard Lagat in the 5,000, and Terrence Trammell in the high hurdles. The Women’s Championship was won by Texas (under coach Bev Kearney) making it their second consecutive national title while UCLA was in second, just two points back. This was Angela Williams’ first of four 100 meter titles, and other winners include Latasha Jenkins, Suziann Reid, Claudine Williams, Mary Jayne Harrelson, Carrie Tollefson, Leigh Daniel, Yolanda McCray, and Joanna Hayes in the 400 hurdles.
