The University of Arkansas men won this championship with 38 points more than second place UTEP while the Louisiana State University women easily won the team titles by 46 points over Texas at this meet in Boise, Idaho. Most of the sprints were wind aided this year with the following athletes earning individual titles: Sam Jefferson, Andrew Tynes, Derek Mills, Jose Parrilla, Graham Hood, Jim Svenoy, Brian Baker, Teddy Mitchell, Robert Foster, Octavius Terry, Holli Hyche, Merlene Frazer, Flirtisha Harris, Inez Turner, Amy Rudolph, Jennifer Rhines, Carole Zajoc, Gillian Russell, and Tonya Williams.
