After being gone for just two years, the action returns to Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon. Doug Brown’s team from Tennessee won the men’s championship over Washington State, their first time at the top since 1974. On the women’s side it was LSU taking home the trophy, their fifth out of eleven consecutive titles for Coach Pat Henry. Individual runners taking home titles include Frank Fredericks(100 & 200m), Gabriel Luke, George Kersh, Samuel Kibiri, Mark Croghan, Shannon Butler, Terry Thornton, Greg Williams, Samuel Matele, Carlette Guidry (100 & 200m), Ximena Restrepo, Nekita Beasley, Darcy Arreola, Laurie Gomez, Jamie Park, Dawn Bowles, and Janeene Vickers (her third 400IH win).
