The 2007 Reebok Boston Indoor Games broadcast is the first of three stops on the Indoor Visa Championship Series. This night featured a remarkable world record set by Tirunesh Dibaba of Ethiopia in the women’s 5,000 meters (14:27.42) as well as additional 5 national records falling. Shalane Flanagan lowered the American record in the women’s 3,000 meters (8:33.25) and Kim Smith of New Zealand was third with a national record time of 8:38.14.. Sarah Jamieson set an Australian national record in the mile run with a time of 4:28.03. Nick Symmonds, a seven-time NCAA Division III champion, won the men’s 800 meter run in 1:48.15. Alan Webb took the mile run a personal-best of 3:55.18 with a solo performance. In addition there was Mark Coogan in the men’s masters mile in 4:24.71, and high school mile performances of Danielle Tauro (4:52.20) and Duncan Phillips (4:09.20).
