The 2006 adidas Track Classic video shows athletes breaking decades-old records, including several close finishes, in the windy conditions at the Home Depot Center. Bernard Lagat challenged Rashid Ramzi of Bahrain in the men’s 1,500 meters who ran the fastest time on American soil by clocking 3:32.34. The fastest time in the world this year was posted by Wallace Spearmon in the 200 meters. Andrew Rock won the 400 meters and Derrick Williams won the 400 hurdles by leaning at the finish. In women’s action Veronica Campbell was challenged by Lisa Barber in the 100 and Sanya Richards took an early lead and won the 200 event. Michelle Perry took the lead on the 8th hurdle to finish in 12.61 and Sarah jamieson dominated the 1,500 meter by winning in 4:05.54. For all the results visit the USATF website.
