This story is based on the actual life of steeplechaser Michael "Sonny" Murphy and his participation at Los Angeles Olympics in 1932. Sonny is a great athlete who enjoys running and leaping over the ridges of County Clare and the Burren. One day the local postman appears with a letter inviting Sonny to compete for Ireland at the 1932 Summer Olympics. Sonny is elated, since all his dreams seem to be coming true; however, the responsibilities of helping on the family farm lead him to some deep soul searching. He ultimately decides not to go to the games, yet his brother wishes to help him and, along with the local priest, the whole community rallies to let Sonny fulfil his Olympic dream. But for every dream there is a price to be paid. Released by TG4 in Ireland, with direction by Hugh Farley, this film is presented in the Irish language with English subtitles.
