Director Sydney Pollack brought this award winning dramatic romance to the theater in 1973. With a run time of 118 minutes you will see screen legends Barbara Streisand and Robert Redford as they play star-crossed lovers Hubbell Gardiner and Katie Morosky. They are opposites and the love that binds them together may tear them apart as they are followed from college to Hollywood in the thirties, forties, and fifties. Redford’s character is athletic and can be found running through the park as well as competing in a track race as the beginning credits are rolling. Near the end of the film this character finds some space when shown jogging on the beach. This film won Academy Awards in 1974 for Best Song, "The Way We Were", as well as Best Score. A 25th Anniversary editon was released by Columbia TriStar Home Video and in May 2001 the DVD became available that offers subtitles in six languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean, and Thai. Amazon.com offers both the DVD and VHS version available new.
