Although the tape is not long, with a running time of 17:27, you get a fairly good portrait of the race day experience. Five athletes are profiled: Khalid Khannouchi going for his third win on this course; Ann Schefers-Coles, hoping to be in the top-10 women; 16-year old Neil Higgins, trying to improve from last year and qualify for Boston; Allison Ostrander, dedicating the race to her mother who died from Alzheimer's; and Bonnie Trafelet, who was inspired to run after photographing the race in 1999. In the end, Khalid Khannouchi breaks away from the pace setters to set a new American Record of 2:07:01 (with an awards check of $180,000). The women's winner, 28 year old Catherine Ndereba from Kenya, takes home $105,000 with her win on this fast and fast course. There is a good mix of music, and dynamic images of large crowds of people running in this uplifting video.
