Highlights include Moses winning the 400 Intermediate Hurdles in 1976, Jesse Owens and Ralph Metcalfe in 1936, Wilma Rudolph, Irena Szewinska from Poland (the first woman to break 50 seconds in the 400 meters, in her second race of this distance) over three Olympic Games, the Flying Finns from 1920-1936, Bob Mathias and Bruce Jenner in the decathlon, Tommie Smith and John Carlos in the 200 meter race of 1968, and finishing with Mamo Wolde winning the Olympic Marathon.
