This film contains footage of 79 great sports moments from 1897 to 1969, taken from archival newsreels that were shown in movie theaters in the days before most Americans had TVs. Although many sports are covered, the athletes who run include Babe Didrikson, Jesse Owens, Wilma Rudolph, as well as footage from the historic Boston Marathon.
